A Love Letter from My Quiet Morning
The gumbo’s simmering, my body’s tired, and my soul whispered, “Baby, just be.”
Dear Friends,
This morning I woke up knowing—today is for stillness. For reflection. For loving myself back into balance.
It’s been a beautiful week. I’ve watched so many of you unfold—new insights, new courage, new trust—and I feel the pulse of that in my own body. But somewhere between the gumbo pot, the art brush, and the endless swirl of doing, I realized my soul was whispering one simple thing: Rest, my love.
So today, that’s what I’m doing. No pushing, no producing. Just being. I’ve moved our Sunday Zoom Circle to Wednesday at 7 p.m. so I can spend this day letting the quiet refill me.
I plan to slip into a warm bath filled with Epsom salts, eat a few heavenly bowls of gumbo, and lather my skin with something luxurious and slow. To feel the way presence moves through the smallest acts—steam, scent, spoon, breath.
It’s not retreat, it’s return.
It’s not giving up, it’s tuning in.
And as I do, I’m holding space for each of us who sometimes forget that rest is also a form of devotion.
With love from the still place,
Monica
