Blue Hair at 92
This Is How I Want to Age
She was 92. Needed a walker. Hair: bright blue with streaks of purple.
I couldn’t help myself—I walked straight over and told her how fabulous she looked.
Her response?
“As long as I have breath in my lungs, I choose to be loud and seen.”
And that was it. No apology. No explanation. Just truth.
There was something holy in that moment.
Something that whispered: You don’t have to disappear.
You don’t have to tone it down, fade out, become less to be more palatable with age.
She wasn’t loud because she wanted attention.
She was loud because she still had something to say—with her presence alone.
And honestly? That kind of aliveness felt rare in a room full of quiet retreat. It woke something up in me.
I’ve spent too many years making myself small in rooms that couldn’t hold my color.
No more.
If I make it to 92, I hope I’ve earned the right to be radiant.
But why wait?
Right now, I choose to be visible.
Right now, I choose to be a woman with bright blue fire in her soul.
What would change for you if you chose to be seen today?
If you’ve been fading into the background, this is your moment to say: not anymore.
Breakthrough is for the woman who’s done shrinking.
Done waiting.
Ready to be loud. Seen. Fully herself.
