Christmas Eve without the performance
The Quiet Before / The Pressure We’ve Undone / The Sacredness of “Enough”
🌙 Christmas Eve Note:
There’s a hush in the air on Christmas Eve.
Not the commercial hush with twinkly soundtracks and cinnamon illusions—
but the kind that says:
You made it.
You got here.
Through the year. Through the days that asked too much of you.
Through the old patterns and old pressures and all the shoulds that still buzz like mosquitoes.
Christmas Eve doesn’t have to be a peak moment.
It can be a breath. A chair you finally sit in.
A bite of something warm. A laugh with someone real.
If your house isn’t spotless, you’re not behind.
If your plans are quiet, you’re not missing anything.
If your heart still aches for someone, or something, or some old version of who you used to be—
you’re not broken. You’re becoming.
This is the eve of enough.
Light a candle.
Let it count.
I’m thinking of you tonight.
And I’m so proud of the way you’ve stayed awake to your own life.
Love,
Monica
