Monica, I so appreciate your ability to put ideas that float in our heads into words (at least in the heads of some...). And after I read these words, they make me think, think again, rethink, reflect, and see that I can rewire my mind to a much improved 'wiring' based on deeper awareness of the effects of the previous wiring. All dreams can be claimed, old and new, why not?
writing my first book here Monica. 70's are turning out to be the best decade of my life. A big part of this is substack. like minded, deep people.. no BS. Let's hopwe it continues like this
“Without a vision, the people perish.“ I have found this to be true for myself. That’s why I am still writing books, still leading workshops, and still flowing into what wants to happen next. As an 80 year old elder, I have decided to be proud. No whimpering exits for me, thank you. I plan to be loud and proud for the rest of my days, even the ones where I don’t get out of my jammies. Monica, thanks for shining a light on the path.
Love this Monica! Not exactly a dream but I am planning on moving late spring/early summer to Durham, North Carolina... from Arlington, VA, which has been my home for over 30 years! I've learned it's nearly impossible to find community here at this stage of life (same as you..) since this is basically a working town. I've done a lot of research and am basically taking a leap of faith in the hopes of finding belonging and having a full life again. thanks for sharing your life stuff.
Good for you! I moved to Lynchburg, ( ack!) 4 1/2 years ago. This is my final move. I lived in Arlington for a short while, as well as Chantilly. I enjoyed my time in NOVA, but alas, I love it better in the Blue Ridge Mts. Durham is making a huge swing, coming back from some downturns in their downtown area. I enjoyed a few blues concerts there. oh those were the days........
I moved to Lynchburg knowing only my daughter and her family. 9 months later they moved to Richmond. Had to deal with some serious anger within me. But once I did, I found that I love it. Have collected a few close friends, all who like me prefer to occasionally hang up and not be up in each other’s business.

Why not, indeed!
This is so true Monica. Thank you for putting it into words!

It's math.
It's living alive.
Listening to my soul.
Aligning.
Thank you for the reminder.

Well I am excited and also terrified to do it as I don’t know anyone there but baby steps i guess.
