Well…I took up violin in my 70s, played with a community orchestra. Still play duets with a friend. Then recently returned to playing piano after decades of neglect.
I also do some writing I call poemlets, just describing things I see around me.
don't belittle your poems… Send them out to journals. Step out like Monica says, be ambitious believe in your word and what you have to say. We can do this. I was too scared to send out my poems until a few weeks ago. Now I have three poems coming out in publication in three different poetry journals in the next month or two. Geez. But I'm not doing anything that others can't do. I believe in you as much as I believe in myself.
Oh, I love this! A pianist who sketches birds? That’s artistry twice over. It’s never about whether we were “the artistic one” — it’s about daring to pick up a pencil (or a brush, or an oyster fork!) and let your curiosity lead. Pretty good at it? Honey, that’s ambition in flight. Keep sketching!
OK here's what I haven't said until in the past couple of weeks: and thank you Monica for the inspiration… I want to write a book that lights up on the page and that people feel in their heart, the book they won't forget and I think it's going to be a memoir about my life.I have some pretty amazing stories.

I’m 78. In good health. Happy. Grateful.

Thanks for your encouragement. And congratulations on your success in publishing!
Never the artistic one aside from being a pianist, I've started sketching birds, and I'm pretty good at it. 😊

Age is just a number. It's the person that adds value to society
Yes. No argument with that fact. However my entire purpose is to empower women over 60. Hence in that context my age is relevant.

That's a horrible to say about our elders 😕
I’m ambitious to use these golden years to explore my creativity and discover new talents.
This is cool to hear you say this Debbie. I hope you will take the next step and say something specific that you're going to do.
