Navigating Uncertainty: When the World Feels Like Shifting Sand
mediation included
There’s an unsettling feeling in the air—like the ground beneath us is shifting, and nothing feels quite solid anymore. The world has changed overnight, and what once felt like a steady path forward now feels riddled with uncertainty.
I feel it too.
With the new president throwing society into chaos, long-held expectations and reasonable norms are being tossed aside. And on a personal level, I don’t have the financial security I envisioned—not yet. That sense of stability I’ve been working toward? Still in progress.
And maybe you’re feeling it, too.
Maybe you’re looking at the world and thinking, How do I move forward when everything feels like it’s unraveling? Maybe the fear of what’s next is making it hard to take the next step toward your dreams.
But here’s what I’m holding onto right now: Uncertainty doesn’t mean collapse. It means change. And change, though terrifying, always holds possibility. We’ve all navigated uncertainty before, in small ways and big ways. And somehow, we always find our way through.
Right now, in this moment, we don’t need to have all the answers. We just need to stay anchored—to our dreams, to our values, to the small actions we can take. Because no matter what is happening out there, we can still choose how we show up for ourselves.
So, let’s take a moment to quiet the noise, to center ourselves, and to remind ourselves that even in uncertainty, we are not lost.

I keep reminding myself of what my Grandmother told me the summer I spent at her house, seeing the Watergate Hearings my Grandfather was watching. She said the world is just a big pendulum…sometimes it swings one way and sometimes the other, and occasionally it settles into the middle, but it never stops moving.
I find this oddly settling because I know things will change for the better eventually. 💜
