Brava, Lady1 🥂

"A student of myself", perfectly put!

This "student" finds much to be fascinated with the world, driven by curiosity rather than "have to". Oh the things I've learned since my curiosity has been freed! History is a lot different than that taught in schools all those decades ago. So is math, but I won't go there as 10 years after they graduated with a masters in education, and working as a teacher, my childrens' teachers had to spend several summer 'vacations' being taught how to teach 'rithmatic to their students. True story. Thankfully there were tutors out there.

There are still 'needs must' requiring attention. Groceries don't magically appear, although I understand there is a fridge that keeps track and orders for one. Nah... My car isn't self repairing. I quite miss DIY, but not having to fix everything myself has been liberating, though more expensive, of course. Blasted small gas engines, leaking plumbing, locks that won't, and over flowing toilets...🤭

Thank you for the freebies. They are very much appreciated. For a long time, I felt it was just me, alone, with a bit of a skewed view of the world.

Your viewpoint is spot on. It’s taken a good long time but at 77 I’ve been a student of myself for 7 years. And oh my, the things I’ve learned in the quiet. Thanks for sharing your story.

"I’ve become a student of myself." Love this so much.

So many things in this post resonate with the way I've been feeling more and more. Thank you so much. I've been noticing that I'm no longer interested in things I used to enjoy, and wondering why. I thought that maybe something was wrong, and now I realize that something is right.

My 75th birthday is coming up on Friday, and I've given myself an early present by becoming a paid subscriber. Looking forward to hearing more from you (and myself).

You know that old phrase "tax and spend"? Well you've been taxed for decades; you have definitely paid your dues. And how you get to decide about the rest of your life, and what you're going to spend it on. I call that "winning." You've earned it.

This is what really resanated with me. Basically what it said was, she has the wisdom of what already tried to stop her. I love that! 💝
