During the last year I've been working on 'paying closer attention to my own patterns'.
Finding where the (distracting) noise is and turn the volume all the way down, or at least a lot lower. Like, deleting apps, turning off automatic notifications, etc.
I now have a handful of people whose opinion I value. But also in those relationships I notice at times that I simply do not feel the same way they do. That's when I get curious. Why the disagreement? What do I feel is right for me? It's a quite interesting and humbling process to be in, honestly.
I have found through my own practice of discernment that curiosity always servs me well. And usually the disagreement is a tool my soul uses to get my attention. My soul always knows. Always.
I might share and whine about things occasionally but I am quite done taking advice from all and sundry. One model does not fit all, be it your mental, physical or emotional health. I have six decades of lived experience and that is plenty of life to draw my conclusions as to what suits me best and what works for me. That certainty is empowering!
I don't ask for advice anymore. I try not to give it either. This is wholly my time - and the responsibility in that is to listen to myself and then others.
I am a science experiment for myself, about myself. This is the problem, listen for a solution, test it, accumulate data, adapt. For the first.time I'm in charge of me just me.
Wow. Since I'm not in the advice giving business anymore, I have so much time and space just to listen and be with you.
Following your own patterns and coming to your own conclusions without regard for the noise. Bravo, Monica.
Life is peaceful existing there, isn’t it? Thank you for sharing this. I too, have recognized the overwhelm that can occur with too much phone stimulation.

May you have rest tonight.
