Welcome to Confessions of a Self-Help Junkie
Or: How I Finally Realized I Didn’t Need Fixing
For years, I was hooked. Self-help books stacked on my nightstand. Podcasts in my ears while I washed dishes. Life coaches draining my bank account. Vision boards, affirmations, morning routines—I did all of it, convinced that if I just followed the right formula, I’d unlock some magical version of myself who had her shit together.
Spoiler alert: That never happened.
Instead, I found myself in a never-ending loop of “not enough”—because that’s exactly what the self-improvement industry thrives on. There’s always one more book to read, one more course to take, one more thing to “heal” before you’re allowed to feel good about yourself.
And then one day, I stopped.
I didn’t burn my books (though the thought was tempting). I didn’t renounce personal growth (because, let’s be real, evolving is part of life). But I did decide to stop outsourcing my worth to people who made a living off of convincing me I was broken.
That’s why I created Confessions of a Self-Help Junkie.
This is a place where we call out the self-improvement industrial complex, share the ridiculous shit we’ve fallen for, and reclaim our right to just be.
What to Expect Here:
✅ Confessions – The weirdest, most expensive, and most laughable self-help things I’ve tried (and I want yours too).
✅ Reality Checks – What actually works for real-life humans who aren’t trying to become productivity robots.
✅ Community Stories – Because I know I’m not the only one who’s been told to “just visualize abundance” while staring at an overdraft notice.
Now It’s Your Turn:
Tell me—what’s the wildest self-help advice you’ve ever followed? Did it change your life? Did it drain your wallet? Did it make you roll your eyes so hard you saw your own brain?
Drop your stories in the comments. Let’s talk. Let’s laugh. And let’s remind ourselves that we were never broken to begin with.
