Gloria Cuevas shared her experience with a hurricane via email. I’m sharing here because I think others will enjoy her story:

Wow!! We've has similar experiences!. In 2017 Huracane Maria hit my island, Puerto Rico a a categroy 5!!

The hardest in over 100 yrs AND the hardest experience of my life....physically, mentally AND spiritually!!! Very difficult times.....as i know you know!!

Two years later 2018/19 we had a series of earthquakes that destroyed some of what was left standing in the SouthWest part of the (100x35 miles) Island., leaving more people without shelter for a long while...for many hop was also gone with the cement!!

Shortly after, Pandemic shows up worldwide.....

So... "what's next" one start to wonder.....

But "next" comes sometimes as a nice surprise.

Seven years later, 2026, i make the hard, but necessary decision, to end my 15 yr relationship with who i thought was "the love of my life" (Only to understand that I AM THAT!!)

AND then life begins .....

Just to prove that, in order to move on, one must let go of what Is holding one back.

What seemed like the biggest tragedy (second divorce), has turned out to give me the clarity and strength to follow my dream of being a FULL TIME ARTIST (which neither partner understood or supported).

I am designing AND living the life that i really want. Have been invited to show my work in a couple of galleries and have turned my tiny apt into a wonderful studio where i am able to spend hours just CREATING!! I also SING AND DANCE!!!

I share this to encourage other women to pursue what THEY REALLY want AND make posible...no matter the age!.

By the way... i will be 70 next June!!!❤️

Thank you for this post today Monica. Warning this is a slightly long post. I lost an earring, just one and it’s always just one earring. These earrings are favs and I seldom wear them because I might lose one. Ouch, gosh, why of all things, shucks a perfect setup for feeling real down. I was sad and tried to bargain with God. Not having it. I know acceptance is a key to release for me but gees so I went outside with a flashlight at midnight to see if it fell on the ground in the yard by the car. No, gone dear. Two weeks ago my 18 year old Tyson, my beloved-rescue dog passed. So my grief brought on by a lost earring was a symptom of Tyce’s absence. I hadn’t been able to let him go. So yesterday, I made a decision to go out and enjoy myself and do whatever-10 min massage, fun lunch alone in my car and then came home and feeling grateful that I could go out and about at 71.. Last night after some quiet I went back through my mind the day I took the earrings off. I visioned what I was wearing and voile’ I checked the pocket of my pants and there was the lost silver jewel. You see the other other earring had fallen on the floor when I heard it drop out of my pocket. I had taken them off in the car and put the earrings in my pants pocket. Why???? My grief has lessened and I am no longer searching for Tyson, he’s in my heart.

Those oak trees were sacred. ❤️. And perhaps in their traumatic uprooting, they gave you a sign.

I’m glad you followed their lead!

😢🤗 sometimes the Universe provides us with a push, often not a gentle one. A Cat 4 hurricane is more than a gentle nudge or wink.

Bravo for starting all over again, yet again. And maintaining!

I wish you fair winds and following seas from now forward.
