I live a quiet life. I’m content, I’m satisfied, I have enough. I know those aren’t sexy words and there are many folks who’d say I should aim for more and social media tries to convince me I’m not content, satisfied or enough. But I think allowing ourselves to just be who we are at our core is the ultimate freedom and we should afford that to others too. Thanks for your message, it’s an important one.

I live a quiet life too. - We artists tend to live comfortably with the quiet.

I’m content. I’m satisfied. I have enough.

I know those aren’t flashy words, and they don’t play well with the constant drumbeat of “more, more, more.” But I’ve learned that a lot of what tries to convince us we aren’t content is coming from the outside, not from truth.

There’s a deep freedom in allowing ourselves to be who we actually are at our core, without upgrading it or justifying it. And I think part of that freedom is extending the same permission to others.

Thank you for naming this. It matters.

My jaw is clenched way more often than it should be! Thank you for this reminder to slow down, breathe and just be.
