I've missed reading your inspiring posts! I'm enjoying a very full life and when I slow down, I come here to you and Substack. Thanks so much for all your insight here. I'm taking it to heart and will re-read this one for sure. 👍🏽

Thanks, Monica —- you hit the nail on the head with this one, plus giving me a laugh. Thanks for brightening my morning, and helping me shift my thinking from a very, very old pattern. 🧡

Even though I am nowhere near retired, I do recognize myself in what you write. While struggling with expectations - both external and internalised - and just doing what needs to be done on a daily basis, I try to take small steps to get back to myself, my needs and wants. There is so much noise everywhere. Also inside myself. When I read up on (new) subjects, I start to question whether the longing that I feel is truly my own or whether I internalised what I read. It keeps me stuck, that is what I know/feel to be true. And I no longer want that for myself.

I can't tell you how deeply this resonated with me this morning, Monica! I'm so tired of feeling like I need to constantly be striving. I had forty years of corporate life for that! Surely by 71 we're at the point where we can just be ourselves and do what we enjoy doing without fear of judgement! Thanks again for a very thoughtful article.

Hi Monica! You had mentioned something about a questionnaire that can help us figure out where our curiosity can lead us? $17? Is this still being offered? Thank You for everything you do and a belated very Happy Birthday : )
