When gratitude isn’t enough
A quiet Sunday-night thought about joy, gratitude, and what really fills us up
Hi friends,
Here in the U.S., we’re heading into Thanksgiving — the season when everyone with a platform reminds us to practice gratitude.
I wanted to send this tonight because I have something different (and honestly, more useful) to share about what real thankfulness can become.
For months now, I’ve been keeping what I call a Joy Ledger — a list of small, true moments that made me feel alive, not just grateful. And the difference has been profound.
Tonight’s short video (under five minutes) is about that discovery — how collecting joy has reshaped the way I move through my days.
🎥 Watch here:
No pressure, no assignment. Just a reflection from my heart to yours. Maybe you’ll spot a joy or two of your own before you go to bed.

Monica this is so true! I use a similar approach. I call it noticing my glimmers (Deb Dana who works with Dr. Steven Porges, coined this phrase). I take the time to notice my big and small moments of happiness and really absorb the feelings. Later, I can replay my glimmers in my mind and be happy all over again.
This has made a huge difference compared to making lists of things I'm grateful for.
Love this Monica! I like to think that I am perfecting the practice of finding joy each day. 😘❤️
