Then I said:
“Guess what, sweetheart? The best part is still ahead.”
Because it is.
I’m not winding down. I’m just getting started.
Here’s a statistic that’ll stop you mid-scroll:
1 in 5 people will spend more years in retirement than they did working.
We’ve been sold a version of aging that feels like a slow fade. A winding down. A soft exit.
But what if they got it all wrong?
What if this season—our so-called retirement years—isn’t the end of the road, but the beginning of a bolder one?
What if now is the moment to:
✨ Reclaim your voice
✨ Rewrite your story
✨ Reinvent what joy, purpose, and power look like for YOU
Because here’s the truth that no one tells us:
This isn’t about shrinking.
This is about expanding.
Why I Do What I Do
I’ve been painting for forty years. But somewhere along the way, it wasn’t enough. I had more to say—more than a brush could hold. So I added words. Then voice notes. Then videos. Not to start a brand… but to keep from vanishing.
I didn’t want to become one of those women people stop seeing.
I didn’t want to shrink into the wallpaper of other people’s needs - think women in the backgroung taking care of other’s needs before her own.
And I sure as hell didn’t want to spend my later years just checking the mail and being polite.
I wanted life.
And not just the “go to brunch and take up pickleball” kind.
I wanted soul-deep, goosebump-level, light-the-match-and-watch-yourself-glow kind of life.
So I built this space.
Not to teach, not to preach, but to remind women over 60 that they are not done.
They are not invisible.
They are not some quiet afterthought to a life that already peaked.
We are the sequel.
We are the comeback.
We are the plot twist no one saw coming.
And if I can paint something, write something, or whisper something that helps you reclaim even one piece of yourself you thought was long gone? Or to help you discover aspects of yourself you never knew about - well then this whole wild, unexpected creative ride is worth it.
Here’s what I do:
What I Don’t Do (Let’s Get This Out of the Way)
❌ I don’t run a coaching program with 37 modules and 58 bonus videos.
❌ I don’t hold your hand through a year-long life overhaul.
❌ I don’t tell you to find your “niche,” or manifest harder, or fake gratitude when you're actually pissed off.
❌ I definitely don’t believe you need to be “fixed.”
This isn’t a makeover show. This is a homecoming.
What I Do Offer Instead
✅ Short, soulful PDFs I call Instruction Manuals for Women Over 60. These aren’t fluff. These are tools. Breathing rituals, clarity prompts, reset buttons for your nervous system, reminders of your own worth. The kind of pages you print out, underline, cry on, and come back to.

✅ Voxer voice coaching for women who don’t want another Zoom call but do want real support. You message me when you want to talk. I reply with my voice. No pressure, no scheduling, no bra required.
It’s like having a wise friend in your pocket who actually knows what you’re going through.
(Current clients say it feels like therapy, without the co-pay or the waiting room.)
✅ Sunday night Zooms for paid Substack members. Not lectures. Not webinars. Just kitchen-table conversations about soul, reinvention, visibility, grief, purpose, joy—and everything in between.
✅ Art that tells the truth. I don’t paint what sells. I paint what speaks. And people are listening. Blue Fear—a piece born out of my fear of being invisible—already has multiple buyers circling
.
Originals and digital prints are available. They are bold. They are emotional. And they don’t match the couch. (On purpose.)
Real Women Are Doing This Work
Women like Beverly, who spent 25 years in a fog after her son’s death—and is now beginning to reclaim her voice. - "I love your art and messages. Everything you paint and say is inspirational and makes me believe anything I want to do is possible. Thank you. " - Beverly
Women like Claire who used the Refoundation guide to take the first honest breath she’d taken in years. -”You're amazing - I’m starting my day with you in my heart . Thank you for sharing your help with not just me but others on here as well . You're beautiful” - Claire
“Monica, you’re not just speaking to women in their 60s—you’re speaking to all of us. Your voice feels like a breath of fresh air, honest and unfiltered, at a time when women need it more than ever. I think that’s why so many are finding their way to you right now—the energy you put into the world is so genuine and full of light, it’s impossible not to be drawn to it.” - Abigail Zsenai
These women didn’t need a guru. They needed a mirror.
That’s what I try to be.
