Welcome to Monirose Soul

Welcome. I’m Monica Hebert—artist, writer, reinvention evangelist, and proud disruptor of “age-appropriate” expectations. If you’re over 50 (or over the pressure to stay small), you’re in the right place. This is a space for women who are done shrinking, done people-pleasing, and done asking for permission to live full, visible, beautiful lives. Here, we tell the truth. We make art. We roar in red dresses. And we remember—loudly and boldly—that we are not done yet.

Becoming Clara

Becoming Clara is an unfolding novella about a woman who steps out of the roles that shaped her and into the life that’s been waiting. Told in intimate scenes, it explores solitude, aging, desire, and reinvention, not as self-improvement, but as remembering who you are when the noise falls away.

Survival Series

The truth about what it takes to rise when everything falls. Not the sanitized version. Not the Instagram highlight reel. Not the "I found my purpose in the ashes" performance. Just what actually worked when I had nothing left but myself—and what I learned about soul, grit, and staying alive when giving up looked easier. This is for women who've been knocked down and are figuring out how to stand back up. Arms raised. Still here. Unfinished but unbroken.

The Women Who Did It

The Women Who Did It This is a special section devoted to the women of Monirose Soul who chose to stop talking about change and actually live it. These are the women who did the brave, unglamorous work of rewiring how they think, how they feel, and how they move through their days. And once they started living differently, something else happened. Their voice came online. Sometimes what they write is poetry. Sometimes it’s prose. Sometimes it’s a story, a confession, a breakthrough, or a truth they can finally say out loud. But all of it is born from the same place: a real person choosing themselves and then putting words to what changed. I’ll feature a different piece each week, beginning Sunday, February 23rd.
