Live with Monica Hebert

A recording from Monica Hebert's live video

The practical takeaway from this video is simple: Reclaim four minutes of your day and begin treating your own time as something valuable.

I share three small practices anyone can begin tonight:

1. Two minutes of stillness. Sit quietly without distractions, obligations, or anything to accomplish. Give yourself an opportunity to listen to your own thoughts and intuition.

2. Two minutes of pleasure. Do something entirely for yourself, simply because it feels good. Read a few paragraphs, step outside to admire the moon, sketch something, or enjoy a little self-care.

3. Put yourself on your calendar. Make appointments with yourself and honor them. When someone asks for your time, remember that being available is a choice, not an obligation.

The point isn’t to add another task to retirement. It’s to begin reclaiming the freedom retirement was supposed to offer.

Four minutes tonight can be the beginning of a different relationship with yourself.
