Your volunteer thing is waiting.
The household needs you.And sometimes the drama stacks.
Two crises before breakfast.And you loved them. Of course you did.
But that constant outward focus trained your nervous system to wake up on duty.Here’s what I want to say out loud:
I don’t wake up like that anymore.And it’s not because I’m older.
It’s not because I retired.
It’s not because my kids don’t matter.It’s because I did a year of work that taught my system to stop waking up in worry.
