I just caught myself getting agitated scrolling Substack. Someone who, for whatever reason, irritates me showed up in my feed again and I could feel my body tighten.

So I stopped and did the only thing that works.

I said, I get to.

Here’s the difference. A lot of people flip it off and say, “I don’t give a fuck.” Fine. But that doesn’t replace the energy. You’re still agitated, you just added attitude.

Get to is different. Get to is a replacement.

I get to choose what I allow into my mind.
I get to close the app.
I get to enjoy these soft scrambled eggs.
I get to choose how I show up today.

Don’t just reject what agitates you. Select what you want instead.
